Bodyboarding US and APB North America Launch Shred The Web online Contest
Bodyboarding US announced the cancellation of the 2020 Ocean Beach Festival, scheduled for November 21st-22nd, in San Diego, CA due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on local and state executive orders currently in place, event organizers made the decision to call off the event. The Ocean Beach Festival will be rescheduled for November 2021.
In the wake of this year’s competition being cancelled, Bodyboarding US and APB North America have announced the launch of the Shred The Web Contest. The field of competition is open to riders from the US mainland, Hawaii, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico as well as participants from the 2019 Ocean Beach Festival. Registration for this online event runs September 21st, 2020 through January 10th, 2021. Video submissions for Men’s, Women’s, Drop Knee, and Masters divisions will battle it out for the $2000 USD prize purse. A Fifth division, Tandem For Fun, will vie for a tandem bodyboard from event sponsor Tandem Boogie along with other prizes.
Following the conclusion of the registration and submission window, a panel of APB North America judges will narrow the field down, and announce the top eight videos in each division on January 16th. From there, these quarter-finalists will be opened up to popular vote on Instagram January 25th through 31st. Results will be announced on February 2nd.
The Bodyboarding US Shred The Web Contest is presented by Tandem Boogie and sponsored by Sticky Channels, Hubboards, Toobs, and Route 99 Hawaii. Please visit http://bodyboardingus.com/event2.html for more information and event details.
